Screen protectors for the Tesla Model 3 with the 16-inch screen: fit guide
Short answer: Since early October 2026, every new Model 3 sold in the US comes with a 16-inch center screen instead of the 15.4-inch one. The new screen is a different size and shape, and the sellers below list their 16-inch protectors separately from their 15.4-inch ones, so check which screen you have first. We have not tested any of these products.
What changed
On Oct 2, 2026 Tesla North America said every Model 3 in the US, Puerto Rico and Mexico now comes with a larger 16-inch center touchscreen (Electrek; GetTesla). Reports put the resolution at 2560×1440, up from 1920×1200, with a wider 16:9 shape instead of 16:10 (Zecar). Electrek reported the change was not in Tesla’s Canadian configurator at the time. Some sellers call this car the “2027 Model 3”; Tesla’s US announcement did not use a model year.
Which screen do I have?
Tesla has not published a VIN or build-date cutover, and cars delivered in October 2026 may have been built before the change. The simplest check is to measure the glass corner to corner: about 16 inches is the new screen; about 15.4 is the older one. One seller, TESEVO, lists touchscreen part numbers on its page (15.4": 1756566-00-D; 16": 1946103-20-C); that is the seller’s information, not Tesla’s.
Screen protectors listed for the 16-inch Model 3
Tesla advises against screen protectors. Tesla’s Model 3 Owner’s Manual says: “Do not apply a screen protector on the touchscreen. Doing so can result in unintended inputs to the touchscreen (phantom inputs), delayed response or unresponsiveness to touches, electrostatic discharge which can damage the touchscreen, etc. Any damage caused by installing a screen protector is not covered by the warranty.” (Tesla Model 3 Owner’s Manual, Touchscreen). The sellers below say their protectors keep full touch response; that is their claim, not Tesla’s, and we have not tested it.

We have not found a Tesla or seller statement that other Model 3 accessories changed fit with this update, and we are not claiming either way. For floor mats, phone mounts and more, check each seller’s fit notes for your build date. Our 2024+ Model 3 guides were written for the 15.4-inch car.
How we checked
On Oct 28, 2026 we opened each seller’s own product page and copied its fit wording above. We only list a protector if the seller names the 16-inch Model 3. We left out listings whose fit wording was unclear or contradicted itself. We have not tested any of these products. This is a fit guide, not a ranking. Links marked “(paid link)” may earn us a commission; the others earn us nothing.
