Dashcam and Sentry Mode save video to a USB drive that you plug in. Tesla's owner's manual lists these requirements:

On many newer cars, use the USB port in the glovebox for video. Some front console ports only charge. Source: Tesla Model Y Owner's Manual, USB Drive Requirements. Every drive below has 128 GB or more of storage and works over USB 3 and USB 2.0.

How this list was made: on Oct 20, 2026 we searched YouTube for recent Tesla dashcam / Sentry USB drive videos (published since Jan 2025), kept only channels that list the United States as their country and are not stores or brands, and counted how many different creators name each product in their video title or description. Counts are small, so treat close ranks as ties. Some creators received free products or were sponsored; that is their disclosure to make, and we note it where the description says so. How we rank.

Tip: After plugging in, format the drive from the car's touchscreen (Controls > Safety > Format USB Device). At least one Amazon reviewer said a portable SSD did not work in their Model 3 dashcam, so keep the box until you see clips saving.
